Genoa until visual loss, glaucoma can be fatal

From March 6 to April 12, the national information campaign and glaucoma screening takes place across France. A team composed of shifting health professionals eye on the bus will travel to 11 cities in France. An ophthalmologist and an orthoptist offer two examinations free of charge. The first is the extent of the tension eye which can highlight hypertonia. This means a voltage too high, which can be a risk factor for glaucoma. The second is a measure of the field of vision to detect potential deficits that may reveal the presence of glaucoma. But what exactly is a glaucoma? It is a serious disease of the vision that results in a slow destruction of the optic nerve. The visual field is thus degraded and it may even lead to blindness. This disease often painless affects between 1 and 2% of the French population, and especially adults over 40 years. This insidious disease requires an early but especially early. So do not hesitate to go for screening.
