The Plan 2008-2012 Alzheimer entered into force in early January will implement in the coming days "card emergency care and Alzheimer's disease." Published in 15,000 copies, "Card care and urgency of Alzheimer's disease aims to improve coordination of care and treatment of patients. Indeed, more than 15% of people suffering from the disease consult emergency hospital because of complications or worsening of their state of health. Alzheimer's is a neurodegenerative disease characterized by memory disorders, language, orientation and other functions affecting the autonomy of the individual. The problem is that patients are unaware that they are suffering from the disease. Thus, the card, personal and confidential, will be offered to the person with Alzheimer's by the treating physician (general practitioner, neurologist, geriatrician,…) at the announcement of the diagnosis or being followed. Advice issued charged Patients may present to health professionals in the event of emergency care or not programmed (consultation, hospitalization, anesthesia,…). It has two components care. One is for health workers where the words coordinates patient, the person of trust, the primary caregiver and health professionals who coordinate the care. The other is for patients and families and gives practical advice for avoiding or dealing with emergencies. Affected individuals will be what to do in case of general anesthesia, pain, drowsiness or behavioural disorders.
