Preventing Breast Cancer Awareness operation of Mrs. Bush in Mexico City

A First Lady of the United States Laura Bush took part Friday in Mexico City to the signing of a partnership Etats-Unis/Mexique for breast cancer prevention and better detection of the disease, AFP noted. The Partnership for education and research on breast cancer is aimed "to focus on raising awareness from an early age and to strengthen medical cooperation" between Mexico and the United States. "The majority of breast cancers are diagnosed when they are already in an advanced stage, but we can reverse the trend," she added. Breast cancer, which affects 8 out of 10 women in the world, said Mrs. Bush. Thursday, Mrs. Bush went to Port-au-Prince (Haiti) for a visit focused on the American aid to the fight against AIDS and for education. Haiti has the American Emergency Plan to Fight AIDS (PEPFAR).
